Graduate of the Year Awards 2019

The Project Management – Graduate of the Year Awards recognise and honour the hard work and high standards required to obtain the Certified Project Management Diploma, the associated international IPMA® Certification and the academic recognition from Technological University Dublin. 

 The objectives of the Institute’s “Project Management Graduate of the Year Awards” are to:

 1. Recognise and honour those who have achieved exemplary results in the qualifying examinations.

2. Increase awareness of the high quality and standards of IPMA qualification among the business community & the general public.

3. Promote engagement and talent management by encouraging other participants to excel and be recognised.

4. Increase the awareness of, and status of, project management as an important business discipline.

Graduates of the Year 2019

Meet our 2019 Graduate Award Winners who have successfully completed the Certified Project Management Diploma programme and attained their IPMA® Certification. 

National Winner: Stephen Jones

Project Management Awards National Winner

Stephen graduated from NUIG with a first-class honours degree - BSc Financial Mathematics and Economics. He also has an MSc in Quantitative Finance (1.1) from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School.

He currently works with Rockall Technologies as a project manager with responsibility for delivering collateral management software to banks. Prior to that, he worked for 7 years in a financial consultant capacity with Murex, in Dublin and France. He has experience of working through the entire life cycle of a client implementation or software development project using both Agile methodology and Waterfall methodology.

Eastern Region Winner: Cillian Mac Donnchadha

Project Management Awards Easter Region Winner

Cillian graduated from National University of Ireland Galway with a first-class honours Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Biotechnology. He also has a Masters of Pharmacy from The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and an MSc (by research) from UCD.

He currently works as the Project Manager - Global Technical Operations, for LEO Pharma. Prior to that, he worked as a Manufacturing Development Executive with LEO Pharma, which involved the management of process development and technology transfer projects and the provision of technical support to CMOs and local manufacturers.

Western Winner: Eamonn Morrissey

Project Management Awards Western Region Winner

Eamonn graduated from the University of Limerick in 1999 with a B.Eng. (Hons) Electronic Engineering. He also has acquired Lean Lead Certification from Milwaukee School of Engineering, US.

He has worked in the capacity of Manufacturing Engineer I Facilities Manager for over 20 years with large multinational organisations. He currently works as a manufacturing engineer with SPXFLOW where his achievements include winning the 2012 SPXFLOW President's award for New Product Introduction. He is a keen golfer & squash player and also enjoys walking & cycling.

Southern Region Winner: Claire Davis

Project Management Awards Southern Region Winner

Claire graduated from UCC with a First Class Honours BA degree (Economics & Geography) and went on to complete a Masters in Economics.

She currently works with Cork City Council as the Project Coordinator for Smart Cities and Communities. Previously she was the Programme Manager with responsibility for establishing and running the Smart Gateway Programme Management Office.

Her prior work experience involved engagements with Cork Chamber of Commerce and South West Regional Authority where she was Project Manager of a number of European Funded Projects.
