Project Manager – Retail Sector Experience
Job Description
Our client, a leader in their field and the project is working with the leading retailers to launch some new products, is seeking a hands-on Project Manager with experience leading technology and business projects and who has project experience working with large retail brands or FMCG companies. This is a daily rate contract opportunity for an initial six-month term.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of IT and business transformation projects within a complex retail environment.
- Engage with a variety of stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Lead planning sessions, define project scope, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Drive the delivery of key technology enhancements across retail systems, from PoS to supply chain and customer-facing solutions.
- Monitor project performance and manage risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Deliver clear communication and reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate vendor interactions and manage third-party delivery timelines.
- Ensure effective documentation and adherence to project governance practices.
About You
Experience Required
- Minimum 8 years of project management experience, ideally within large retail organisations or working with Retailers (Musgraves/ BWG/ Primark etc)
- Proven experience in delivering projects in fast-paced, customer-centric environments.
- Background in managing both IT and business change initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels.
- Experience delivering projects in hybrid working models.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with or alongside major retail brands or FMCG companies.
- Knowledge of retail-specific systems (PoS, inventory management, merchandising platforms).
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
- Vendor and third-party delivery management experience.
Educational Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or a related discipline.
- Project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification) is highly desirable.
