Job Description

The principal objective of the position of a Data Manager is to oversee the development and use of data systems, ensuring that data is accurate, available, and secure. Key responsibilities include establishing data quality standards, and implementing data privacy policies to ensure compliance with regulations. The Data Manager is tasked with designing and deploying efficient data management strategies, optimizing data collection procedures, and facilitating data accessibility for analysis and decision-making processes within the organization. They play a critical role in translating data into actionable insights that support strategic objectives and drive business performance.

Plan

* Data governance initiatives, ensuring data quality and integrity across the organization.
* Enforce data standards, policies, and procedures. Develop a data strategy aligning with the organization's goals and objectives.
* Design and implementation of data architectures and systems, ensuring they support the company's business needs.
* Compliance with data protection regulations and standards, such as GDPR or CCPA.
* the security measures in place to protect data assets from breaches or cyber threats.
* Robust data governance policies, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, and working with InfoSec team, implement an advanced security measures to safeguard sensitive information from unauthorized access or breaches.

Execute

* Implement tools and processes to monitor, clean, and enhance data quality. Address data-related issues and work with different departments to rectify them.
* Promote data-driven decision-making within the organization. Oversee the deployment of analytics tools and platforms, ensuring that the company extracts valuable insights from its data
* Ensure that data from disparate sources and systems can be seamlessly integrated and used. Oversee data migration, transformation, and integration projects.
* Promote a data-centric culture within the organization. Provide training and resources for staff to improve data literacy and competence.
* Collaborate with various departments, understanding their data needs, and ensuring they have the right tools and data to function effectively.
* Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and partners, to address data-related concerns and collaborations.

Deliver

* Manage the data team, which may include data scientists, analysts, architects, and database administrators. Oversee the budget and resources for data-related projects and initiatives.
* Categorize data based on its sensitivity and importance. They implement "Data Labelling" protocols to ensure data is consistently tagged with relevant metadata, enabling proper handling and safeguarding of data based on its classification. This approach streamlines data access controls and enhances security measures tailored to data categories.
* Comprehensive data management strategies, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and consistency across the organization. Establish protocols for data lifecycle management, from acquisition to archival or deletion. This pivotal role also promotes a data-centric culture, emphasizing the importance of quality data as a foundational asset for business success.
* Creation and maintenance of a "Data Catalog" to centralize data asset metadata and enhance discoverability. Ensure that the catalog provides a comprehensive view of data sources, relationships, and usage patterns. This endeavour promotes better data understanding, governance, and efficient utilization across the organization.
* Facilitates the adoption of "Data Analytics" methodologies, ensuring data's optimal use for actionable insights. Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to prioritize data-driven projects and outcomes. Furthermore, they champion the integration of analytical tools and practices, empowering the organization to make informed, evidence-based decisions

Sounds Good? What do you need?

* 6+ years in data management, Data Analytics, or similar role
* Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients
* Be able to ensure the updating of the technological level of the area, carrying out studies and implementing new procedures, techniques, selection of software and inputs
* Data Strategy, Data Manipulation and ETL, Data Visualization
* Strong experience of data governance and creating data policies
* industry experience in defining and establishing data management strategies and implementations
* Working knowledge of Master Data platforms, data cataloguing and lineage solutions
