Imagine your next project joining the DOTS (Digital Operations and Technical Services) working in the position of a Portfolio Leader. You will work closely with the Director of PMO to drive prioritisation and trade-off decisions for the DOTS project portfolio to ensure that programs are appropriately resourced and executed, delivering on their target outcomes.

You will report to the Director of PMO and will have significant scope, including involvement in Financial planning cycle activities, supporting teams in budget submissions and financial approvals, as well as leading process improvements to drive project management maturity in the areas of financial / spend management, prioritisation, resourcing, and performance management.

Lead the portfolio processes for the DOTS team, collaborating closely with the DOTS Pillar leaders, DOTS Leadership Team, and the IM (Innovative Medicines) SC portfolio team as required to drive prioritisation and trade off decision making

This will involves:

* Collaborate with the Pillar leaders to drive the strategic planning cycle process, including Long Range Financial Planning, Business Planning, June Update, and November Update ensuring alignment of DOTS project portfolio with organisational goals and objectives.
* Support the PMO process by maintaining reports and metrics for key projects. Identify risks and opportunities and develop mitigation plans as needed to ensure successful project delivery
* Orchestrate and report on DOTS Capital and Expense targets, forecasts, and actuals. Support the preparation for capital review and approval meetings, ensuring accurate financial data and analysis are provided.
* Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for portfolio management systems and tools, such as Planisware, Power BI - Portfolio dashboards. Ensure these tools are effectively utilised by the DOTS team for portfolio planning and performance tracking as appropriate.
* Own the monthly metrics Performance Reporting process, including establishing efficient data collection processes, utilising digital tools, and distributing monthly reports to stakeholders.
* Provide insights and analytics derived from portfolio data to support operational and strategic decision-making.
* Facilitate the DOTS team by driving a regular cadence of business and project reviews, aligning with the organisation's priorities, challenges, and annual calendar.
* Lead the ongoing maturity and improvement of the portfolio & project management process for DOTS. Identifying and driving efforts to enhance systems, tools, and processes to optimise portfolio performance and efficiency.
* Lead the development of updates, communications, presentations, analyses, and reports providing essential information and insights for decision-making.

how to succeed

* A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required with a focus in Supply Chain, Business or technical field (i.e. Engineering or Science) being preferred
* Relevant business experience is required, preferable a combination of Supply Chain functions and Portfolio Management
* Outstanding financial savvy and analytical skills with ability to analyse complex data and translate into actionable items at the strategic and tactical levels
* Ability to “zoom out” when needed to simply and clearly frame information for a leadership audience
* Shown success in clearly and concisely communicating across all levels
* Experience in business case development, financial / business understanding is required Proven success in leading and influencing others in a matrixed environment is required

Preferred

* Ability to work in ambiguity within a complex environment
* Experience with project and portfolio management systems and tools (Planisware, Power BI) Experience in relationship development, conflict resolution, team building, and customer centric
* Experience in Finance
* Project Management certification (eg: PMP)

Benefits

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run for a minimum of 12 months with a strong possibility of extending.
