Assistant Finance Manager (1 Year)

Our client is a leading services provider in the Irish health sector. Working exclusively with Brightwater, they are currently recruiting for the post of Assistant Finance Manager at their Cork office. The successful candidate will provide detailed management information to support timely and informed decision making for the business. They will prepare the weekly/monthly management accounts and assist in preparing and managing the annual budget process, and any other ad-hoc accounting duties as required. The post-holder will also assist in ensuring monthly/weekly reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner and ensure all statutory report requirements are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Preparation of detailed month/week end revenue analysis reports.
* Assist the Finance Manager in preparing the annual budgets.
* Compile detailed P&L analysis, cash flow and balance sheet.
* Liaise with auditors, ensuring all relevant information is readily available.
* Managing audit queries in a timely manner.
* Development financial models to comply with Budgets and Capex Projects.
* Development of detailed KPI’s to support Finance Manager/Finance Director.
* Partner with the line managers on Projects, take the lead on Electronic Record project.
* Proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements.
* Business Partner with line managers on their objectives.
* Maintain good working relationships with senior and middle management.
* Keep Finance Manager/Finance Director appraised of any significant developments.
* Development of Internal Controls to support a Fast-Growing Business
* Ensure all statutory returns are completed on time – E.g. VAT
* Ensure Expenditure is controlled within budget.
* Identify efficiency savings through improved practices and innovation.
* Responsibility for other day-to-day activities of the Finance Function.

Essential Skills & Knowledge

* Fully Qualified Accountant, min 2 years post-qualification.
* Experience within the Finance Department of a service/industry organisation.
* Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with Advanced Excel.
* Business report writing experience preferable.
* Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.
* Previous experience of system development desirable
* Ability to multi-task on key projects as required.
