You’ll love it here if:
* You prefer flexible hours, unlimited time off, and the ability to Work-From-Anywhere ?

* You are naturally curious and eager to drive impact for both users and the business.

* You enjoy wearing multiple hats - we value experts but appreciate jacks of all trades.

* You thrive in a drama-free, calm, and systematic problem-solving environment.

* You love challenges and are always ready to roll up your sleeves.

* You believe in working smarter, not harder - prioritizing productivity and quality over punching the clock.

* Above all, you follow your passion and have fun while doing it.

Your Mission

Our Unicorn is looking for a Senior User Researcher to help us deliver meaningful and inspiring product experiences for our users. In this role, you’ll support the General Manager and CPO by leading App’s user research efforts as a hands-on contributor and working closely with the cross-functional product team to get to know our users and uncover their needs and pain points by looking beyond the numbers to deeply understand how our users are interacting with and getting value from our product. The ideal candidate will have lots of experience planning and running both exploratory and evaluative qualitative research as well as quantitative research.

What you’ll be doing
* Lead the effort to understand and empathise with our users through ongoing, frequent and strategic research using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods.

* Plan and run qualitative studies, including field observations and interviews, diary studies, concept testing and usability studies.

* Identify actionable insights through quantitative methods such as large-scale surveys, and use basic statistical concepts to ensure findings are robust.

* Work closely with product management, product design, analytics and engineering to generate hypotheses and plans for high-impact research that helps us better understand our users and how to create a better product that solves their problems and meets their needs.

* Partner with analytics to provide qualitative context for their quantitative insights and with market research to grow and develop our research capabilities.

* Collaborate and communicate in a way that amplifies the voice of our users, and influences the business and product strategy while being a strong evangelist of user-centred design.

* Empower and train non-research stakeholders to conduct high-quality, light-touch research.

* Help build and scale the user research efforts by educating on best practices and expanding our methods and operations.

What you’ll need to succeed:
* You’ve got lots of hands-on experience with exploratory and evaluative qualitative research methods.

* You can run user tests with your eyes closed, regardless of the setting. You should be comfortable in a lab as well as stopping people in the street for quick feedback or setting up remote tests.

* You appreciate robust research study design, but can also consider practical constraints and business goals – you understand what 'just enough research' means.

* You’re a strong communicator and facilitator. You’re able to tell a story so your audience will want to listen to and zoom into detail when needed to help solutions come to life.

* You are flexible in your approach and embrace a challenge; you might need to come up with new ways of answering research questions quickly and communicating the results in a memorable, impactful way.

* You’re familiar with quantitative research and understand how user research helps shape metrics and drive teams towards success.

* You are passionate about social products, Gen Z, and associated trends.

Bonus points:
* It’s great if you’ve worked on online dating, social discovery, community or entertainment products, but it’s not essential.

* Comfortable with innovation research techniques.

* Experience with SQL and data analysis.
