LCMS Research Analyst

Job Description

Our Client, a Materials Specialist, is seeking a Mass Spectrometrist / LCMS Research Analyst to work as part of multiple teams to support production and the development of new products for OLED materials. An Expert in mass spectrometry who designs and carries out experiments independently. They manage a dynamic workload, using communication and organizational skills to determine prioritization and manage resource capacity. Must be able to clearly communicate results and conclusions to stakeholders (both internal and external), supporting research and production enabling sales.

LOCATION:

On Site, Shannon Ireland

Some Travel required, up to 10% of the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Support quality within Production using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.
* Validate and optimize liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry methods for analysis of OLED small molecules.
* Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instruments.
* Work independently, organize and prioritize multiple projects, troubleshoot, and solve problems independently.
* Interface with business and technical collaborators to understand priorities, solve problems and communicate findings.
* Deliver high quality results, conclusions, and recommendations in a fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrate project ownership behaviour.
* Suggest and implement process improvements.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
* Ensure the lab follows safety protocols.
* In-depth understanding of liquid chromatography mass spectrometry
* Ability to implement mass spectrometry techniques to identify small molecule impurities.
* Previous experience in applying Python programming to data analysis preferred.
* Previous experience with detection and quantification of trace quantities of small molecules preferred.
* Previous experience with advanced data analysis techniques preferred.
* Previous experience with multiple LC and LC-MS instrumentation and software preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Able to communicate effectively to technical and business functions.
* Able to write reports, give presentations, and lead discussions.
* Able to work in a team as a contributor and leader.
* Self-motivated problem solver who can manage projects with minimal supervision

REQUIREMENTS:

* Ph.D. in Chemistry, materials science, physics, engineering, or related discipline (Analytical Chemistry preferred)
* 0-5 years of industrial work experience.
* Exceptional candidates at Masters level with appropriate experience will also be considered.
