MEP Lead - Westport (Pharmaceutical)

Job Overview: We're seeking an MEP Lead in Westport to join our tier-one contractor! Reporting to the Regional MEP Lead, you'll ensure MEP systems are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with their safety, quality, and energy efficiency goals. You'll guide and motivate teams to ensure smooth project handovers and happy clients.

Key Responsibilities:

* Implement Systems: Promote and enforce Building Services Department Management Systems.
* Support Vision: Align with the company’s strategic goals and vision.
* Manage Project Bids: Oversee the technical and commercial aspects of project bids.
* Tendering and Awarding: Manage the tender and award process for MEP packages.
* Electrical Needs: Ensure projects meet temporary electrical requirements.
* Lead the Team: Provide strong leadership and motivation to MEP teams.
* Resource Planning: Plan and manage resources for project delivery.
* Follow Procedures: Ensure projects adhere to Building Services Management Procedures and Project Execution Plans.
* Commissioning Programmes: Finalise and integrate commissioning programmes with construction schedules.
* Utility Coordination: Work with utility companies to meet infrastructural needs.
* Drawings Approval: Oversee the production and approval of Coordination and Builders Works Drawings.
* Track Equipment: Manage equipment tracking from approval to delivery and quality checks.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate key risks in project delivery.
* Quality Inspections: Manage QMS snagging and quality inspections.
* Start-Up Management: Oversee MEP start-up and live energy control.
* Commissioning Plans: Develop site-specific ITP and Commissioning/Handover Plans.
* Safety Compliance: Ensure completion of Safety Files and manage the “Soft Landings” process.
* Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, MEP consultants, and supply chain partners.

Qualifications:

* Experience: 10+ years managing large-scale MEP projects.
* Education: Relevant mechanical/electrical qualifications.
* Professional Membership: Membership in CIBSE, CIOB, IEI, or equivalent.
* Safety Training: IOSH or equivalent H&S Management Training.
* Technical Skills: Expertise in Planning, Project Management, Live Energies/Arc Flash.
* Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the MEP supply chain market.
* Skills: Great technical, interpersonal, and commercial skills.
* Safety Knowledge: Understanding of H&S policies and practices.
* Implementation Skills: Experience with QMS Systems, ITP, and Commissioning Plans.
* Communication: Strong communication and leadership skills.
* Organisational Skills: Methodical and proactive approach to project management.
* Mentorship: Ability to mentor and share knowledge with junior staff.
