Job Title: Underwriting Portfolio Manager
Location: Dublin
Abrivia are currently recruiting an expert in Commercial Underwriting to join our client, a leading Global Insurance Organization, based in Dublin City Centre.
While leading and developing a small team, this role will play a key part in the implementation of an effective portfolio strategy, ensuring optimal results in pricing and underwriting.

Your Role:
* Promote the growth of talent within the team, establishing yearly targets, conducting performance evaluations, and pinpointing skills deficiencies.
* Ensure pricing and underwriting practices meet financial goals and achieve targeted customer outcomes.
* Supervise exposure management, to guarantee compliance with both UK and Group requirements.
* Lead portfolio reviews, providing updates on emerging risks, and leading on cross-functional projects.
* Track business performance against key metrics, analyse sales and retention trends and assist with portfolio management processes.
* Develop advanced portfolio management tools and work on proposals to maximize revenue.
* Work closely with stakeholders to create proposals that optimize revenue and shape the company’s portfolio for ideal exposure.
Requirements:
* 10 years’ experience in a large general insurance company with expertise in risk acceptance and rating.
* Previous experience in guiding and managing a team.
* Excellent understanding of business and underwriting performance metrics.
* Expert knowledge of the insurance industry, including ROI & UK legislation.
* Relevant industry qualification (CIP, MDI or ACII).
* Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
* Dedication to ongoing professional growth, to stay informed about the latest advancements in general insurance and the Irish market.
