Assistant Project Manager – Embodied Carbon

Job Description

A super opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager who has a background in measuring carbon rating within buildings & construction

You will

* Work with the Project Manager to develop & implement an embodied carbon building rating calculation methodology, whilst respecting the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) & the Energy Performance of Buildings Directives (EPBD).
* Populate a database of construction materials & their embodied carbon emissions.
* Validate & verify all entries to the database.
* Work with the Building Energy Rating methodology & software teams to integrate Global Warming Potential (GWP) into Building Energy Rating (BER) certs.
* Develop & maintain strong business relationships & work collaboratively with a range of internal & external stakeholders including relevant representative associations within the industry & other various service providers for the benefit of the programme & the wider organisational goals/targets.
* Undertake any other duties/projects as may be assigned from time to time within the wider residential programme & across other SEAI Business Units.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

* Degree/Level 7 NFQ in a technical subject: Env. Science, Structural, Mech, Civil Eng, Building Services, Sustainability, Architecture, QS, Economics, Circular Economy etc
* Min 3 years' experience in building design or life cycle assessment or similar (postgraduate studies may be included).
* Strong data extraction & analysis skills.
* Strong project management & organisation skills & knowledge of business process development experience.

Ideally

* Familiarity with the Building Energy Ratings & the BER methodology.
* A good understanding of building products & systems.
* Familiarity with building sustainable design, construction, & operations stds certification systems such as: LEED &/or BREEAM.
* A post graduate qualification in environmental science, architecture, sustainability, or similar disciplines.
* Knowledge of the IGBC Indicate Methodology, ecoinvent, OpenLCA, SimaPro or GaBi would be advantageous.
* Completion of EPDs to EN 15804.
* Knowledge of BIM, Revit &/or ICMS.
* Modelling of Carbon Factors for fuels.

This is an 18 month FTC with hybrid working with generous renumeration.
