About the Opportunity

Lead Group Ireland is currently seeking a highly experienced Project Director with a strong electrical background to join a leading international engineering company expanding its Data Centre operations across Europe. This is a senior leadership role for an individual with deep expertise in electrical infrastructure for mission-critical facilities and a proven ability to deliver complex Data Centre projects at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of large-scale Data Centre projects with a strong emphasis on electrical systems, including HV/LV infrastructure, substations, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, busbar systems, and power distribution
  • Provide senior technical oversight of electrical design coordination, ensuring alignment with client standards, redundancy requirements (N, N+1, 2N), and operational resilience
  • Manage and coordinate electrical contractors, specialist vendors, and commissioning teams across multiple project phases
  • Oversee electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and energisation of mission-critical power systems, including phased and live-site environments
  • Act as the primary senior interface with Data Centre clients on all electrical and critical power matters
  • Ensure strict compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards across European jurisdictions
  • Drive programme, cost, risk, and change management with a clear understanding of the electrical critical path
  • Promote best practices in electrical safety, quality assurance, and system reliability

About You

Extensive experience delivering Data Centre construction and fit-out projects, with a strong focus on electrical infrastructure. Proven track record of leading large, multi-million-euro, electrically complex projects in a senior leadership role. Strong technical background with in-depth knowledge of critical power systems and Data Centre electrical architecture.

Eligibility

  • Experience working directly with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise Data Centre clients, particularly on electrical scope and commissioning requirements
  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and technical communication skills
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on technical levels in fast-paced project environments
