About the Opportunity

Data Centre Project Director / Head of Operations – Hyperscale

Location: Dublin or Cork (with travel to sites in Ireland & Europe)

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for hyperscale data centre projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover
• Take full ownership of programme, cost, quality, safety, and commercial performance
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, construction, commercial, QA/QC, and commissioning
• Act as the senior client-facing representative, building strong relationships with clients, developers, and key stakeholders
• Oversee engineering strategy across MEP and CSA scopes, ensuring alignment with client standards and operational requirements
• Drive early-stage planning, sequencing, and constructability input to de-risk delivery
• Ensure robust governance, reporting, and controls across all project phases
• Manage senior project staff including Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Package Leads
• Support procurement strategy and subcontractor engagement at scale
• Oversee commissioning readiness, phased handovers, and final acceptance
• Promote a strong safety, quality, and delivery culture across all sites
• Provide executive-level input into future project planning and business growth within the data centre sector

About You

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline
• 10+ years’ experience delivering large-scale construction projects, with significant data centre experience
• Proven track record with a Tier 1 General Contractor or Tier 1 M&E Contractor
• Demonstrable experience delivering hyperscale data centre projects end-to-end
• Strong working knowledge of MEP systems, CSA works, and mission-critical environments
• Experience managing large multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder interfaces
• Strong commercial awareness and programme control capability
• Ability to operate at senior leadership and client-director level
• Chartered status or equivalent professional recognition preferred
• Flexibility to travel to sites in Ireland and Mainland Europe as required
