Automation Project Manager - Arklow, Ireland - 12 Month Contract

Are you local to Arklow and looking for your next contract assignment? Our client, a leading pharmaceutical organisation, are recruiting for an Automation Project Manager to join their newly assembled team and help contribute towards the development of their next core projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end upgrade of legacy control systems to PCS7 across an API production line
• Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, IT, validation, and manufacturing
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and qualification of automation systems
• Ensure robust documentation and compliance with GMP, FDA, and MHRA standards
• Manage vendors and contractors involved in automation, cabling, and networking
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to system integration and connectivity
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians

Requirements

Requires extensive experience in automation project management within life sciences or pharmaceutical manufacturing

Proven track record of delivering PCS7 or similar DCS/SCADA system upgrades

Strong expertise in network architecture, industrial Ethernet, and electrical cabling

Solid understanding of GMP, validation protocols, and regulatory compliance

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related technical discipline

Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills

Experience working in API or sterile manufacturing environments is highly desirable
