Job Description
Our client is looking for a Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage large-scale construction projects, particularly data centres. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and extensive experience in delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning:
* Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
* Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met.
* Prepare and present project proposals and progress reports to clients and senior management.
Project Execution:
* Oversee all construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
* Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
* Monitor project progress, identifying and resolving any issues that arise.
Budget Management:
* Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and expenditures are tracked.
* Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs.
* Approve and process invoices, change orders, and payments.
Team Leadership:
* Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
* Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project status, goals, and challenges.
* Provide mentorship and support to junior staff members.
Risk Management:
* Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and implement contingency plans as needed.
* Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Client Communication:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction.
* Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
* Communicate project updates and milestones effectively to all parties involved.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager, with significant experience on large-scale projects, including data centres.
* Proven track record of successfully managing complex construction projects from inception to completion.
* Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
* Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced project management tools.
* Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
