Engineering Project Manager

Job Description

I am looking for an experienced project manager for a very exciting opportunity with a large FMCG manufacturer in Cavan. There is a large budget for various projects and work across robotics, fluid management, high speed packaging lines, and more.

Responsibilities

•Develop and manage projects onsite, with occasional visits/work at other sites as required.

•Oversee the preparation of the annual capital budget processes.

• Manage project spend vs budget during execution.

• Manage the capital approval journey for the projects. Defining the scope of each project, costs, payback, environmental impacts etc.; ensuring support of local management teams and divisional managers; presenting and explaining to all relevant stakeholders.

•Identify, develop, and execute projects in conjunction with the site management teams. The projects will span all operational areas (R&D facilities, manufacturing facilities, warehousing & distribution facilities, and all relevant services).

•Keep the site’s Plan of Record live and updated, a continuously evolving 4-5 year forward plan that facilitates the site meeting its Business Plan.

•Ensure that all growth/capacity projects also deliver improved operational efficiencies and reduced costs (through automation, use of new technology, adjusting operational practices etc.)

• Manage the resources necessary to deliver the projects such as internal staff, suppliers, consultants, contractors, regulators, grant awarding bodies etc. Take personal responsibility for delivering successful outcomes, safe working practices, compliance with all relevant regulations and “good value” for the organisation.

•Encourage, coach and support employees representing their area/department effectively in the various capital projects.

•Be able to account for project objectives, impacts and outcomes (milestones/dates, spend, environmental impacts, morale, training, new capacity release, business continuity matters etc.) and in so doing take a lead role in the prioritisation and sequencing of project work.

• Provide advice and technical support to Site Operational Management in their efforts to maintain and improve quality, efficiency, and capability.

• Ensure site project documentation and site drawings are kept up to date with site development.

• Keep abreast of new technology, equipment and processes that could be helpful to the organisation.

• Develop own performance by completing relevant learning and development activities.

• To take reasonable care of the health and safety of self and others, ensuring compliance with safety regulations in area of responsibility, in line with all relevant Health & Safety legislation.

• Ensure compliance with standards and procedures to achieve accreditation and ongoing compliance certification.

•Responsible for own compliance with the Company’s Data Protection Policy and Data Retention Process.

• Must ensure that personal data is kept secure and processed in a lawful manner and that all activities relating to the handling and processing of ordinary personal data, and special category data, comply with Data Protection legislation.

• Promote and engage in knowledge transfer as appropriate.

• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time in line with your role.
