Finance Project Manager

About the Opportunity

The purpose of the Finance Project Manager role is to plan, coordinate, and execute projects across Mergers & Acquisitions, Post Acquisition Integration, and Payment Technology Transformation. The Project Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end project delivery, ensuring benefit realization within a clear timeframe and in alignment with strategic objectives.

This is a hands-on role suited for someone comfortable managing several projects. The position is a fixed-term contract for 18 months with potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Governance – Define project scope, timeline, & milestones
  • Project Management & Delivery – Track and report project status, coordinate internal workstreams
  • Communication – Establish clear communication channels
  • Integration Management – Lead post-transaction integration
  • Stakeholder Management – Work closely with directors and senior management
  • Risk & Issue Management – Identify & mitigate potential risks
  • Compliance – Ensure legal, regulatory, and internal governance requirements are met
  • M&A Research & Due Diligence coordination – Coordinate research and evaluation of potential M&A targets

About You

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Project Management Qualification e.g. PRINCE2, PMP
  • Finance Qualification e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA
  • Experience of SAP (Desirable)
  • 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in M&A
  • Experience of M&A processes, due diligence, legal, financial, and operational aspects of financial services
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information
