Global Category Leader - Standard Electronics

In this role, you will have direct influence on business results within all of Aptiv’s business sectors, responsible for key areas in the global Standard Electronics portfolio you will define the supply and sourcing strategy and lead supplier relationships. You will have global scope that includes providing guidance to the global buyer team as they negotiate and implement the supply strategy.

You will report to the Global Category Manager Standard Electronics and play an integral part of the Strategic Sourcing organization.

Your Responsibilities:

* Support Standard Electronics team in category strategy execution to create competitive
* advantage and capture value for the product lines
* Identify/acquire product line and corporate business requirements
* Achieve targeted category material cost performance for product lines
* Participate in relevant engineering “future direction” strategy groups
* Lead end to end sourcing activities (RFx, commercial and contractual negotiations)
* Ensure volume leverage, supply base optimization, and supply base competitiveness
* Qualify/select/approve suppliers for CASL (category approved supplier list)
* Identify and introduce supplier innovation
* Provide input to senior leadership pertaining category/supplier related strategic and operational topics
* Supplier relationship management
* Build and maintain good supplier relationships
* Support category leader in running category specific strategic supplier events, such as Quarterly Business reviews
* Conduct negotiations of corporate-wide supplier contracts/CASL suppliers including, but not limited to Terms & Conditions, Pattern agreement and or Nomination Letters
* Monitor supplier performance and re-evaluate capabilities
* Resolve systemic capacity/capability gaps

Your Background:

* Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business with a minimum of 5 years of total experience in Global Categories
* Specific experience purchasing subject components within the Automotive Industry is advantageous.
* Standard Electronics experience would be beneficial.
* Fluent in written and spoken English.
* Ability to travel both locally and globally (approximately 10% of working time).
* Empowered decision maker/relationship-builder with high integrity.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Well-developed influencing skills.
* Analytical skills to assess supplier financial information and capability.
