Job Description

We are now seeking a Project Director to join us and play a key role assisting our clients in the transition to a low carbon energy future. The role will involve working in a dynamic and fast-paced organization and will afford the candidate the opportunity to work on strategic and innovative projects across all stages of delivery from concept to design and construction. The candidate should have a strong project management background with a proven track record of delivering large-scale complex infrastructure projects through the regulatory, design, procurement, and construction stages.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and delivering a diverse portfolio of projects, predominantly in the energy/utilities sector.
  • Accountable for defining, developing, interfacing, and delivering complex multi-package projects safely, while managing time, budget, quality, and key performance indicators to ensure successful completion.
  • Adapt quickly to changing project and business requirements, with a strong technical ability to understand and digest technical information.
  • Analyze issues, exercising judgment to make decisions and drive delivery of large infrastructure projects.
  • Liaise with the engineering, construction, and procurement teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and technical requirements.
  • Foster, sustain, and oversee strong relationships with internal key stakeholders and external partners.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • 15+ years relevant experience preferably with a construction/energy/engineering background.
  • Power system industry expertise, utilities/construction experience along with the ability to adapt, innovate, and meet changing demands.
  • Knowledge of the industry, environment, and context, experience working within a similar regulated utility environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills at management and operational levels.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to make decisions and recommendations in all aspects of project implementation.
  • Experience working with EPC Contracts; FIDIC, NEC, etc.
  • Willingness to travel when required within Ireland.

Desirable Requirements

  • Recognized qualification in energy efficiency/renewable energy.
  • Experience delivering renewable energy projects either onshore or offshore.
  • Understanding the operation and development of electricity transmission networks.
