Project Manager / 6 month contract / Day rate negotiable/ Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland 4 days per week & Remote Working 1 day

Here at Primark we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join us on an initial 6 month contract, this is a project management role is to provide project execution and administration control and support within a high profile flagship Supply Chain project.

You would need to go into our Newbridge site, County Kildare, Ireland 4 days per week & remote working 1 day.

This project management role is to provide project execution and administration control and support within a high profile flagship Supply Chain project.

Key Responsibilities:

• On site project management and coordination through a warehouse fit out and automation installation phase. You will be responsible for being Primark’s ears and eyes on site during a resource intensive period.

 You will recognise that the challenge is compounded by the presence of multiple contractors on site at any given time all with different contractual motivations and drivers

 Duly apply scrutiny and oversight of all partner’s compliance with agreed protocols and critically ensure adherence to their contractual obligations

• Directly project manage designated elements of a new distribution centre automation project.

• Attend daily and weekly site meetings as an embedded Project Team member. Take responsibility for resolving issues and identifying opportunities. Be proactive in ensuring:

 All parties activities are actively being coordinated and ensuring that daily toolbox talks and weekly planning meetings are taking place meaningfully on site

 That the defined responsibilities of the Principal Contractor, Automation installer and other key stakeholders are being embraced

 That issues of concern, professionalism, competency, and failure to adhere to agreed protocols are being documented and raised to the Senior Project Manager

 Compliance is being adhered with to agreed contractual ways of working including that Health & Safety and security protocols are established and being followed on site

• Work with the Automation provider, Building Fit Out contractors, IT infrastructure and Corporate Workspaces teams to develop a more detailed consolidated project plan from the agreed contractual ‘baseline’ automation installation sequences. Collaborate with the Senior Project Manager and the Construction Workstream Lead in the management of all parties that need to be informed, coordinated and synchronised.

 As part of the consolidated plan identify dependencies, predecessors and successors and create those links within the Project Plan which will be used to monitor progress and determine risks, conflicts and the need for mitigations

• Arrange and hold weekly project plan updates with each individual applicable Workstream Lead identifying conflicts and opportunities and updating the consolidated project plan accordingly.

• Monitor project task completion and ensure progress is made to plan and adjustments made whenever necessary.

• Ensure projects are being managed by the Principal Contractor to the highest Health & Safety standards and are legally compliant with local legislation.

• To undertake ad hoc analytical tasks as requested by the Senior Project Manager including process reviews, process designs and execution of discreet tightly defined Work Packages; for example bespoke Pallet Procurement in ROI

• To provide administrative support and / or deputise for the Senior Project Manager as required at co-ordination and progress meetings etc.

• Assist with the compilation of resources for 4 weekly Steering Group Meetings as well as Weekly Project Progress Reports

• Production of easily digestible and engaging frequent updates as to progress at site that can be shared to a Primark audience; for example on internal communication platforms

• Host visits to sites by external parties as required including providing site tours

Essential knowledge, education, skills, and experience:

The ideal individual will be:

• Ideally proven Project Management experience in a similar role in large scale automated distribution centre implementation or equivalent application concerning the fit out of bespoke industrial equipment

• A highly experienced and effective Project Manager with a demonstrable track record of personal performance and achievement on large scale projects dealing with multiple concurrent activities and contractors

• Pragmatic, practical and results driven. Able to deliver in the face of varied and frequent challenges

• Experienced in an appropriate Project Management methodology eg PRINCE 2 with the associated use of Microsoft Project planning tools.

• Demonstrate a good end to end supply chain awareness with understanding and a solid grounding in supply chain operations

• The individual should be self-motivated, focused and results orientated, with the ability to operate within a highly pressurised and fast paced environment, consistently delivering results and achieving corporate objectives on time and within the agreed parameters.

Core Skills

• Demonstrable ‘hands on’ Project Management experience in large footprint warehouse, industrial or commercial settings with complex building / fit out interfaces with multiple contractors

• Project Team management skills

• Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills

• Appropriate Project Management qualification

• Proficient User of MS Project. Able to generate Critical Path, Resource Usage and Task tracking

• Ability to build credible, honest, open direct relationships whilst being empathetic to the natural challenges that arise in multi-contractor project settings

• Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking and planning skills

• Demonstrable interpersonal skills in a matrix environment.

• Unflappable in a complex project delivery setting with numerous actors

• Strong administrative skills
