About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an ambitious and highly experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to join their Cork based team. This is a pivotal client-facing position requiring an accomplished professional capable of acting as the Client's Representative while leading multi-disciplinary design and construction teams. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of Irish contract law, strong commercial awareness, and a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget in a consultancy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring all objectives, expectations, and governance requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle
  • Establish and implement robust project governance frameworks, including change control, risk registers, financial reporting, and programme delivery
  • Administer various forms of construction contracts such as GCCC and RIAI, including certification, claims management, and dispute resolution
  • Lead the procurement process for both design teams and main contractors, ensuring compliance with frameworks and best value for money
  • Manage and monitor project budgets, conduct value engineering, process interim payments, and oversee project close-out accounts
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, and contractors to ensure effective communication and collaborative decision-making
  • Review designs to ensure quality, constructability, and compliance with Irish Building Regulations and Health & Safety requirements
  • Provide leadership and decision-making support to maintain smooth project progression and elite delivery standards across all phases

Eligibility

Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Architecture (preferred)
Chartered or equivalent professional accreditation (highly desirable)
Minimum 7+ years of progressive project management experience
At least 4 years in a senior or lead PM capacity within a consultancy or client-side setting
Proven ability to administer Irish construction contracts (GCCC/RIAI)
In-depth knowledge of the Irish construction market, planning processes, and regulatory environment
Proficiency in project scheduling and management platforms such as MS Project
Strong analytical and detail-oriented approach with excellent organizational skills
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
Proactive approach to identifying and resolving project risks
Confidence presenting complex project information to senior management and clients
