Project Manager – Data Science, Bioinformatics R&D

About the Opportunity

Seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a Data Science R&D team in a leading pharma company. The team works on multi-omics, patient data, text (EHR) data, and AI tools that drive drug discovery and innovation. This role focuses on managing and organizing AI and data projects, keeping the business side running efficiently so the scientists can focus on technical work.

Responsibilities

• Define and structure new AI and data science projects in collaboration with researchers, developing work packages, timelines, milestones, and resource plans.
• Coordinate 2-3 key AI initiatives across company (~1/3 of time)
• Lead group communications through the internal data science initiative and promote team visibility by sharing progress and impact across the organization. (~1/3 of time)
• Align project activities with R&D and corporate Data Science strategy.
• Lead change management for new AI tools and processes.
• Plan and organize user workshops, trainings, and feedback sessions.
• Support agile practices; run stand-ups, retrospectives, and offsites.
• Help strengthen collaboration and operational efficiency within the team.

Eligibility

Requirements:

• 5+ years managing R&D, AI, or data science projects in pharma, biotech, or tech.
• Strong grasp of AI, data science, and R&D project lifecycles.
• Excellent organization, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and project tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet).
• Independent, adaptable, and comfortable working remotely.
