The Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) was established in 2011 as an independent, non-profit membership organisation, to provide leadership in the transformation to a sustainable built environment.
It is affiliated with 80 national Green Building Councils that form the World Green Building Council, the largest organisation influencing sustainable construction worldwide. It is the industry partner in Construct Innovate seeking to engage the Irish construction industry in practical applicable research and innovation.
WHO DO WE NEED?
We are looking for a project manager/researcher to deliver some of our new exciting funded projects and programmes and contribute your technical knowledge to our other teams including education and advocacy.
Professional attributes
You are a highly carbon, energy and sustainability literate professional possibly with a back ground or interest in delivering funded industry focused research perhaps for construction and property.
Personal attributes
You are a team player, flexible and willing to work in a changing environment, willing to contribute to all aspects of IGBC’s development. Industry engagement is core to all IGBC’s projects and research so you must have excellent interpersonal and engagement skills. You are interested in developing a career and developing new projects and programmes for IGBC using your core competencies.
Responsibilities will include
· Delivering SEAI RD & D projects including one on design for performance and Building renovation passports
· Contributing expertise to other programmes such as EU taxonomy and DECC pilots
Qualifications and Experience required
Ideally 3rd level with a preference for, engineering, energy management, construction related qualification.
Skills required:
· Good practical general knowledge of energy management ideally in non residential buildings.
· Excellent project management, organisational and time management skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills in English.
Desirable Skills
· Knowledge of energy management, auditing in non residential buildings, NEAP, DECC.
· Knowledge or experience of certification schemes such as LEED, BREEAM, Well etc
Benefits
Indicative Salary €36,000 - €48,000 commensurate with relevant experience, skills and qualifications. This will be full time role but we are open to part time working with a six-month probationary period which can be extended. The position is based in our 19 Mountjoy Square office, Dublin 1.
