The Role: We are seeking a highly motivated Research Coordinator to join our Research and Development team as part of our innovative start-up servicing a niche, fast-growing global industry with new APIs. Working with a small, collaborative, and dynamic team of innovators, you will be responsible for facilitating the coordination and organisation of early-stage product and formulation development projects. You will also be involved in supporting process improvements on the GMP floor, via the research department and its resources. With a focus on innovative pharmaceutical applications, you will work closely with the Head of R&D and other department memberes to ensure projects align with business needs, adhere to deadlines, and stay within budget. Your role will involve coordinating resources, managing supplies, maintaining documentation, and ensuring successful project execution through meticulous tracking and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination:
* Support early-stage product and formulation development projects, ensuring efficient progress from concept through to engineering.
* Collaborate with the Head of R&D to facilitate projects, ensuring they align with the business pipeline and objectives.
* Support the research team in optimising processes to guide improvements on the GMP floor, replicating and assessing established processes in the research department.
Resource Coordination and Process Improvement:
* Coordinate resources, track inventory, and manage asset tagging to support R&D lab operations.
* Ensure adherence to company policies and support the GMP team with process improvement initiatives.
* Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide regular updates on project status, timelines, and budgets to management.
* Ensure adherence to company Health & Safety policies, maintaining high standards of quality and safety in all projects.
Experimental Support and Data Management:
* Support experiment and protocol design.
* Capture, design, and manage data for analysis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Design and execute stability studies to finalize formulation composition and ensure long-term stability.
* Conduct statistical analysis of experimental data and compile reports.
* Assist in report writing, summarising experimental findings and providing clear and concise conclusions.
Communication and Compliance:
* Coordinate with teams in GMP Manufacturing, Analytical Support, Operations, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control to ensure seamless project execution.
* Liaise with external partners and suppliers, supporting business development and technical assessments as needed.
* Ensure all projects comply with company regulatory requirements.
* Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide regular updates on project status, timelines, and budgets to management.
* Identify areas for process improvement and provide recommendations to enhance efficiency and quality in project execution.
Job Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in plant based formulations and development.
* Understanding of GMP regulations and quality standards, including herbal regulatories guidelines and stability guidelines.
* Experience in formulation and product development.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency in data management and statistical analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and visualization tools.
* Proven project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Degree in Science with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
