RPS, a Tetra Tech company, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager (Transport) to join our Transport Infrastructure business based in Ireland. This is a hybrid role and offices available are Dublin, Galway, Cork, Sligo, and Kilkenny.

We provide technical and advisory services across the entire project lifecycle. We’re proud to have worked on many of the most successful transport projects in Ireland and the UK, including roads and motorways, light and heavy rail, ports and airport upgrades, and sustainable transport projects including greenways and active travel. RPS has routed, designed, project-managed and supervised the construction of over 400km of Irish roads and motorways. We have pivoted towards other sustainable transport delivery, particularly rail and greenways in Ireland. We also have an active portfolio of international projects across UK, North America, and Australia.

About The Role

The Senior Project Manager in Transport will manage the planning and delivery of projects from Inception through Planning, Design, and Construction.

Responsibilities

• Ensure RPS quality and management procedures are complied with.
• Establish project objectives and develop project plans, budget, and schedule in compliance with RPS procedures.
• Build trusting relationships with our Clients.
• Maintain a safe working environment for staff under your control.
• Monitor the progress of projects and provide regular performance reports on completion status, programme, and finances.
• Liaise with and coordinate project delivery with the leads of the various technical delivery teams.
• Identify project risks and deviations from programme or budget and prepare plans for mitigations.

Key Skills & Attributes

• Track record of experience as Project Manager in Transport or related projects.
• Experienced in the design of Transport projects (technical skills are an advantage).
• Experience in delivery of sustainable transport - Rail, Active Travel, Greenways an advantage.
• Substantial experience across planning, design, and/or construction phases.
• Strong financial management and budgetary control skills.
• Strong programming and resource management skills (including use of Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or similar).
• Strong people management skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Proven ability to monitor and handle multiple projects at the same time, balance key priorities and meet challenging and changing deadlines.
• High resilience, proactive problem-solving skills, and strong negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to create a team culture of camaraderie, integrity, and trust, among multination and multicultural teams.
• Strong track record in liaising with Clients and working with them to achieve the required solutions.

Qualifications

• A Level 8 honours degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) status is essential.
• Project Management Qualification is essential.
• Ideally a Level 9 master’s degree in engineering or cognate discipline.
• Other specialist qualification in a transport related discipline is an advantage.
