Position Overview

The Strategic Finance team for CRH Europe provide financial oversight, evaluation, guidance and direction to optimise CRH Europe’s strategic position and resulting financial performance. The team operate alongside Strategy and Development, Finance and other business professionals, working closely with business leaders to ensure CRH Europe develops its optimum strategic business plan and delivers financial growth in line with this. The team help to drive the financial plan and maximise EBITDA, margin, RONA and cash returns from the portfolio, ensuring that best value is derived from major investments and development projects across the Division.

This role will report to the Head of Strategic Finance, along with a Strategic Finance Senior Manager, who together will guide from a financial perspective in three areas:

1) M&A transactions and business development projects

2) Portfolio and strategic reviews

3) Land development strategy and related initiatives

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who is passionate about business partnering and strategic finance. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate to broaden the scope of their finance experience. It will provide practical experience of partnering to develop and deliver the businesses’ strategic business plan from a commercial and reporting perspective. As we evolve our strategic finance agenda, this role will flex and grow, but in the immediate term the focus of the role is to:

* Support with transactional due diligence, financial evaluation, proposal “quality assurance”, acquisition integration, divestment separation, etc.
* Review proposals, analyse and assess modelling to validate the business case presented.
* Primary point of contact, managing the flow of information, documents and feedback for the end-to-end acquisition and divestment oversight processes for CRH Europe.
* Help to maintain and improve resources (e.g. templates) for use throughout the business to build awareness and consistency in our approach to the financial aspects of the various M&A, investment and divestment activities.

You possess the following:

Experience / Education

You are/have:

* A qualified accountant with c.5+ years PQE
* Knowledge of financial modelling and valuations is an advantage
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
