Department Overview

Motorola Solutions, Inc. (“MSI”), is establishing a new Research and Development Centre in Cork, Ireland, expecting to ramp up employment to 200+ people in the next 24 months. The Centre will be focused on designing software for the company’s comprehensive land mobile radio (LMR) portfolio, with plans for possible expansion across other technologies in the future.

Job Description

The Manager – Tax and Finance role will be the lead finance function position in Ireland. The primary responsibilities of the position include:

* Oversee the Company’s tax planning and compliance in Ireland, with an emphasis on intercompany transfer pricing and Irish R&D tax credit and grant claims;
* Work closely with the Corporate Tax team, based in the U.S., and EMEA tax and finance teams to manage the Irish entity’s tax compliance and reporting as well as preparation of U.S. GAAP and local statutory financial statements;
* Manage the Irish entity’s transfer pricing policies and documentation with respect to intercompany transactions and R&D activities and assets;
* Lead the preparation of R&D tax credit claims and work with the local management team to secure IDA Ireland incentive grants and grant drawdowns;
* Liaise with external advisors and auditors in respect of tax and financial reporting for the Irish entity and serve as main point of contact with Irish tax authorities;
* Potential assistance with tax matters outside Ireland, working with Corporate Tax team on global transfer pricing, M&A and reorganizations, tax controversy projects, etc., particularly as it impacts the Irish entity.

Basic Requirements

* Significant experience of tax and accounting experience in a multi-national company with increasing responsibilities;
* Knowledge and hands-on experience managing transfer pricing issues and documentation and compliance requirements strongly preferred;
* Chartered Accountant designation strongly preferred;
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities;
* Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with key business stakeholders;
* Proficient in Excel and Google work collaboration products.
