About the role:
This Trinity East Programme Director will be a high visibility role responsible for the overall management, project planning, implementation, coordination and monitoring of the re-imagined Trinity East project. This will involve designing the project structure including governance, workstreams and communication protocols, and subsequently implementing and running this design on an ongoing basis. The role-holder will also further develop the strategy, guide the project through Trinity’s project pathway as prescribed in Trinity’s PMO Handbook, continuously seek new opportunities and funding streams, and partner with the Project Sponsor to communicate the project’s vision.
As Trinity East Programme Director you will:
* Champion and develop further the Trinity East project vision, strategy and identity, ensuring alignment with Trinity’s institutional strategy
* Drive philanthropic and other enabling opportunities to allow the vision and project to further develop over time
* Design the project structure, including governance structures and workstreams, to reflect the Trinity East vision
* Oversee the project’s finances, provide financial expertise, and ensure workstreams follow prescribed financial processes
* Deputise for the Project Sponsor as required and represent the project at meetings and events
To be successful in this role you will need:
* A professional qualification (minimum level 8) in a relevant Business or Management area – essential
* Project management qualification, or significant experience in project management in long-term capital projects – essential
* Experience as a project manager of comparable scale, nature and complexity
* At least 10 years proven relevant experience in managing people, projects, finances and operations of multi-faceted projects
* Understanding of higher education context in Ireland with an appreciation of the diverse nature of academia, research, innovation, cultural engagements and commitments associated with a large university campus
* Knowledge of requirements for financial and budgetary planning for large-scale development projects
Post Status: Specific Purpose. The specific purpose of this employment is to provide overall management, project planning, implementation, coordination and monitoring of the re-imagined Trinity East project. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis as it is expected that work on the Trinity East project will be completed in a finite period.
Salary: This appointment will be made on the Senior Administration 3 salary scale (€95,954- €123,909 per annum) in line with current Government pay policy. (tcd.ie)
