To be eligible to sit the PMI-CP exam, a candidate must first meet the following specific education and professional requirements:
3 years of on-the-job experience (within the last 10 years) in construction projects
or built environment projects to qualify for the PMI-CP™ certification exam.
Ensure you have the required work experience before you apply.
To pursue certification successfully, first, complete the required course modules to build foundational knowledge. Next, ensure you have relevant work experience, as this is often a prerequisite for certification eligibility. Then, apply to take the certification exam, following the specified procedures.
Prepare diligently for the exam by studying the exam content and practising exam-style questions. After passing the exam, maintain your certification by fulfilling any continuing education or renewal requirements to stay current in your field.
Our preparation course costs €1175 and gives you the learning hours required to be allowed apply for the PMI-CP exam.
The PMI-CP exam and certification are administered by the US-based certification body, which is the PMI. The examination fee is currently $405 in the US, £320 in the UK for PMI members and $555 in the US, £450 in the UK, for non-members. This fee is paid directly to PMI.
The course fee includes access to all course materials on the Student Hub, live expert-led virtual classes, recordings for a limited period of time, and unlimited follow-up support from our Student Support team.
Online. Classes typically run over three consecutive days online from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Your instructor is a certified PMP practitioner with real-industry experience. Do not worry about missing an online class – a recording of each online class will be available for playback in the Student Hub for a limited period of time.
Classroom. Choose classes on campus for in-person learning with industry-expert lecturers. Classes run at the National College of Ireland (Dublin). Please note the scheduling of in-person classes is subject to demand.
The PMI-CP certification exam does not require project management education. However, to qualify for the exam, you must have 3+ years of work experience in the construction/built environment field.
The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP)™ offers an in-depth curriculum focused on the construction industry. Project managers and stakeholders in the engineering and construction fields can benefit for this course.

Please read the instructions carefully to avoid delays in processing your application. However, plan to spend some time studying the core material while preparing for the exam. As you can appreciate, this is very dependent on each individual’s capability. After the application is approved, PMI will e-mail your instructions for scheduling your exam using your eligibility code.
