Role purpose
Skillnet Ireland are seeking an EU Projects Specialist who will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of Skillnet Irelands’ responsibilities within EU funded projects. The successful candidate will be strategic and results-driven, willing to take initiative and able to manage a wide variety of project tasks.
Key Responsibilities
EU projects management (approximately 35% of time)
Leading Stakeholder engagement with key EU project partners and Skillnet Business Networks engaged in implementation of projects. Planning and coordinating the implementation of project activities focused on skills needs assessments, training programme design and delivery as well as dissemination and communication, in line with the Erasmus plus and the Digital Europe programmes. Contributing to embedding EU project implementation activities and processes within Skillnet Ireland Teams to further build in-house expertise on projects.
EU projects implementation (approximately 45% of time)
Executing Skillnet Ireland responsibilities within EU projects, including timely production of EU project deliverables as well as coordinating the drafting and submission of technical and financial reports. Coordinating and participating in project implementation meetings, sharing updates and giving presentations. Contributing to the organisation of events, trainings or workshops linked to implementation of project work packages. Lead on and contribute to the development of EU project case studies and communication documents to showcase Skillnet Ireland’s impact through implementation of EU projects.
Budgeting and financial planning (approximately 20% of time)
Contributing to identifying the most appropriate financial, operational, and contractual approach for the implementation of EU projects. Ensuring reporting of reliable financial information in a timely fashion contributing to the successful management of EU projects. Providing support to EU bid submissions when appropriate.
Essential Qualifications And Experience
3rd level qualification in business, European affairs, a related discipline or a qualification in project or programme management. A demonstrable track-record of previous experience in EU project management and implementation, engaging with Irish SMEs and / or Irish training providers or higher education institutions. A strong proficiencyin the key rules and procedures to plan and implement a European funded project under Horizon Europe, Erasmus plus or Digital Europe programmes. 3-5 years of experience in project implementation with experience in setting up and managing EU projects. Good degree of financial literacy - understands the budgeting process and delivers projects/ programmes within agreed budget. Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with internal and external partners. Ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation, including executive level. Advanced leadership skills to collaborate with and influence multiple teams. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while paying strict attention to detail. Experience using Project management IT programmes including MS Office, Asana and PowerBI.
Desirable Qualifications And Experience
Technical knowledge and understanding of the learning and development space.
