Operational Project Manager

About XOCEANXOCEAN is an ocean data company – we collect data for clients ranging from mapping the seabed to monitoring the environment. However, we do this differently, instead of using conventional crewed survey ships, we have developed a marine robotic system known as an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV).
OverviewResponsible for the successful global execution of assigned projects. The project manager role involves oversight of assigned projects from commercial handover through to final project close out. XOCEAN project managers are the central focus point for the control of all aspects of the project lifecycle.
Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will include:Supporting Operations Managers in the planning and execution of all USV work, providing project assistance in, but not limited to, the following activities:Liaising with internal and external project stakeholders on all aspects of project planning and execution.Developing project plans and budgets.Resource planning.Overseeing the daily activities of the project.Maintaining project records and paperwork.Sourcing external contractors as required by the project.Ensuring adherence to XOCEAN’s health and safety standards / objectives.Project Logistics and Coordination.Meeting project budgets, assessing the financial and operational risks for potential projects and providing feedback to the sales team / risk escalation.Providing daily operational updates.Reporting on project performance against both financial and non-financial project objectives.Project Cost Management.Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.Managing relationships with key vendors.
Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes and ExperienceThe successful candidate will have a proven record of managing projects with strong client relationship and interpersonal skills.Bachelor’s Degree or EquivalentMinimum 3 years in a Project Management or Operations Management position.Translates development goals into actionable plans. Makes timely, confident decisions.Results orientated, proactive and reactive.Enthusiastic, positive, and proactive nature with a keen attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentational, problem solving and team working skills.
Desirable ExperiencePrevious experience working within the Marine sector, particularly within marine survey.Renewables or Oil & Gas sector experience.Additional project management qualifications (eg Prince 2, PMP, CMI).
